Austin Interfaces: Reading & Open Mic (Feb. 21)

fields magazine and BookWoman are partnering on a new reading series/open mic called Austin Interfaces! Expect an intimate night of poetry, fiction, music, essays, and an open mic featuring up-and-coming artists in the Austin area every third Thursday from 7-9pm at BookWoman, hosted and curated by Nia KB.

This month will feature the work of local writers Zoë Fay-Stindt, Katelin Kelly, and Alana Torrez.

Zoë Fay-Stindt’s work has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize, and has appeared in The Indianapolis Review, The Ocotillo Review, JASPER Academic Journal, Winter Tangerine, and others. Most recently, she was selected as one of two writing mentees for the national Gemini Ink poetry mentorship with Barbara Ras. When she’s not writing her own poetry, she works for an adult college program in Austin, where she facilitates and supports community writing workshops and helps others strengthen their voices.

Katelin Kelly is a poet, educator, and editor originally from Lexington, KY. She holds an MFA in creative writing from the New Writers Project at UT Austin where she served as managing editor for Bat City Review. Katelin currently works as programs coordinator for The Library Foundation's Badgerdog Creative Writing Program which helps publish and amplify community voices across the Austin area. Her work can be found in Narrative Magazine, Electric Lit, Borderlands, and elsewhere. 

Alana Torrez is a mixed, bi Austin poet available at all times (except sleep times) to talk about the following things: Remedios Varo, PD James, and her cat Leonard. She is a proud member of the Lenguas Locas writing collective and is currently working on a forthcoming chapbook through dancing girl press.
