Art City Austin 2015
Art City Austin celebrates its 65th anniversary this year, which, for a city whose landscape has changed dramatically over the past decade, is quite an accomplishment. If you haven't been yet, you should check it out - it's only $10 for a day pass. The festival brings in about 20,000 people and more than 100 different artists working with a variety of media. Especially exciting this year is the Austin Art Pavilion, featuring contemporary work from local artists, curated by a group of renowned gallerists including Brian Willey of Tiny Park; Rebecca Marino of pump project; Austin Nelsen, Sean Gaulager, and Chris Whiteburch of Co-Lab Projects; Rachel Stephens and Wally Workman from the Wally Workman Gallery; and others.
The festival runs all weekend, and on Sunday at noon, curators and artists will be available at the pavilion to talk about their work. For more information and tickets, visit the Art Alliance Austin website.
